Understanding Colon Hydrotherapy
Why Cleanse?
The colon performs three essential functions: the elimination of waste, the detoxification of the body, and — through the activity of beneficial gut bacteria — the manufacture of key vitamins. For many people eating a typical Western diet, one or more of these functions is compromised to some degree.
The gut also has a profound influence on how we feel day to day. Around 90–95% of the body’s serotonin — a key regulator of mood, sleep and general wellbeing — is produced in the digestive tract. This gut–brain connection means a healthy, well-functioning colon supports far more than digestion alone.
When the colon’s capacity to eliminate or detoxify is overwhelmed, toxins can be reabsorbed into the bloodstream, placing additional pressure on the liver, lungs, kidneys and skin — the body’s other elimination pathways. Over time, this burden can manifest in a wide range of ways, from persistent headaches to low energy, digestive discomfort and reduced immune resilience.
Certain food sensitivities and intolerances can also cause inflammation and contribute to IBS-type symptoms. For this reason, meaningful dietary change is often an important part of achieving lasting improvement.
The incidence of bowel-related conditions has been increasing in line with changes in food production and dietary habits. Preventative support — through regular colon cleansing and meaningful dietary change — can make a real and lasting difference to long-term health.

Who Can Benefit?
Anyone with a history of consuming a Western-style diet — or one that includes a significant proportion of refined or processed foods — may benefit from colon hydrotherapy. The connection between colon health and general health is well established and often underestimated.
Clients come to us for many reasons: digestive discomfort, fatigue, bloating, skin concerns, after illness, or simply as part of a proactive approach to their own wellbeing. Whatever brings you here, you’ll be met with care, expertise and a non-judgmental approach.

What to Expect
At The Rejuvenation Centre, we use the Woods Gravity closed system — widely regarded as one of the gentlest and most effective methods of colon hydrotherapy available. Unlike pressurised systems, the Woods Gravity method relies on the natural force of gravity to introduce warm, filtered water into the colon, making the experience comfortable and controlled.
Your treatment takes place in a private, clean room. The procedure is administered by a Registered Nurse or certified colon hydrotherapist who remains with you throughout, incorporating massage and adjusting the treatment as needed.
Treatment is provided by either Sue or Karen, who both have a deep understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the digestive tract through their extensive studies. They work hands on, rather than expecting the equipment used at other clinics to do the work, and their experience allows them to respond to each client as an individual.
